My small plein-air works are painted throughout the year and they reflect the seasons, weather and mood. Insects attach themselves, easels blow over, animals come disarmingly close.

Sometimes I feel vulnerable, other times relaxed - everything feeds into these small works.

I have most recently shown plein air oil sketches in The Kildrew Barn Gallery, St John’s College, Oxford and at The Rona Painting Gallery, Oxford.

My large studio paintings are developed from a series of plein air works and are abstract studies in colour and light.
